Introduction

Kaya Kaya Wunju!! It is our pleasure to share with you our traditional First Nation culture in Australia. We help people understand and enjoy our ancient heritage through music, dance and storytelling. Wadumbah means ‘Big Flood Waters’, and they truly live up to their name. Their presentation is visually spectacular, with their traditional Aboriginal tribal paint and dynamic dance style. Coupled with powerful didgeridoo playing and woven together with stories of dreaming, our shows guarantee a breathtaking experience.

Our performances are tailored to suit a wide range of events and venues, including concert and festival spots, event ceremonies, street parties and children/ family shows and Welcome To Country presentations.

We are an exciting, professional Aboriginal dance group from the South-West of Western Australia. Led by renowned didgeridoo player James T Webb, the group offers a variety of performances from ten-minute power performances to longer shows.

OUR STORY

Our passion was to share information about our culture through a medium that would capture the attention of schools and the general public so we began training and practicing our dance, storytelling and music.

Eventually, people began to notice our group and offered us a chance to perform at schools, agencies, corporations and festivals. We went on to perform at big opening ceremonies for different entertainment venues, suburbs and businesses. Then came a few tours overseas to different countries. This was exciting and gave us the opportunity to share our culture with those host countries.

Every performance and presentation is executed with due diligence to our culture and elders, women and men.

We’re on time, fully prepared and enjoy what we do. We have known right from the very beginning that for anyone to enjoy and take our shows seriously we have to be organised and free to express our creativity within the boundaries of our traditional Noongar content.

Ways we can contribute?

Dance & Music Performances

We do traditional performances from the Noongar Nations of the South West of Western Australia. The performances can go up to 60 minutes at a primary school to a 10-minute power show at a State or national event like a conference and everything in between. We’re flexible and talk to the organisers to do the best possible arrangement for them. School performances are great fun and incorporate an educational component while the show is happening with small tidbits of pertinent information shared with the students. We also interact with the children and get them up for a dance or two with us.

Welcome to country Presentations

The senior man in our group, Mr. James Webb can perform Welcome to Country presentations for up to 10 minutes. It is very informative and helps in bringing a postive impact.

Smoking Ceremonies

These are very significant to our people and are done with a great explanation welcoming everyone to participate and enjoy the beautiful fragrances emanating from the special leaves used in the receptacles.

Affordable Rates

We enjoy performing within the state, country and overseas as well so we keep our rates affordable to ensure that any large, medium-scaled or small organisations can also hire us and experience our mesmerizing performances.
